Therapy Modalities FAQs
Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)
What is ART?
RT is a brief, evidence based, trauma focused therapy that uses guided eye movements and imagery to change how distressing memories are stored. Many people notice less emotional reactivity to triggers in just a few sessions.
Will I have to retell my trauma in detail?
No. ART lets you process what happened without reliving it or giving a step by step account.
What concerns can ART help with?
Post traumatic stress, anxiety, depression, grief, and other stress reactions.
Animal Assisted Services (AAS)
What is AAS?
AAS integrates trained animals and a qualified handler into therapy to support calm, trust, and connection. At Integrated Wellness this may include a therapy dog or equine sessions.
Do I have to work with an animal?
Only if you want to. AAS is optional and always tailored to comfort and goals.
What about allergies and safety?
We screen for allergies, follow infection control, and protect animal welfare with clear rest, consent, and handling standards.
Somatic Therapy and Mindfulness
What happens in a session?
You will learn body based skills like breathwork, grounding, gentle movement, and present moment awareness to calm the nervous system and process stored stress.
Is this suitable for trauma?
Yes. We go at your pace, build safety first, and never force exposure.
Can this be done by telehealth?
Many somatic and mindfulness skills adapt well to secure telehealth.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
What is DBT?
DBT teaches practical skills in four areas: emotion regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness.
Who can benefit?
People who experience intense emotions, relationship conflict, self criticism, or trauma related stress often find DBT skills helpful.
Do you offer full DBT or DBT informed care?
We provide DBT informed individual therapy and may recommend skills groups or adjunct supports when appropriate.
